Philosophy class was interesting today, as the topic of discussion returned to the prisoner's dilemma, this time with a condition: what if the prisoners can hear each other? Given this, it's interesting that a rational person will inevitably rat the other one out. If one hears the other say that he won't testify, then the listener will testify to get off without any charges; if he hears the other one say that he'll testify, the listener will also testify to lessen his own prison time. With all the heavily math-oriented Bayesian arguments we sift through, it's nice to have a rational discussion like this from time to time.
