The King's Hunt
Another day, another chance to sleep in and miss U.S. Congress. Malcolm, Alaric, Sean and I went to Iris's to watch the Bruins v. Red Wings game. Katie arrived partway through the game, first making fun of our sport and then engaging Sean in a long argument about what to eat. They left eventually, and the Bruins dropped the game to Detroit, 3-2. We also stayed for the beginning of the Kings v. Coyotes match; LA slaughtered the Coyotes, 4-0. At home, some of us conversed about science fiction's role as a lens on humanity and philosophy. There's a lot of bad science fiction (see: what TVTropes calls the Sci-Fi Ghetto), but properly applied, I think that it's the best medium for social and political commentary.
