Another Fifty Years

New Year's Eve. Most of the Boston birds have flown their coops, but a few friends would be coming by later on. I cleared out my email, registered my Charlie Card to avoid future losses, kept up work on my blog, and decorated the ceiling. Johnny and Peter came over to play pong, sign up for Obamacare, and then e-file our dissolution report for the ballot initiative, which was going nowhere. Johnny brought along a bottle of champagne: the mayor of "BALLATORE". Sabrina, Lauren V, and Laura showed for a brief period, and we all played Up & Down the River before the girls whisked Peter off to their next destination. Kofi, Emily and Lucy joined us for the evening; we played Kings and affixed sticky notes to each other's forehead, but try as I might, the room lacked chemistry. Soccer Physics provided a fun respite, as did a joint-enhanced jaunt to Domino's, but on the whole, it didn't seem like my friends had that great of a time.
          Quotes of the day:
"We're officially out of politics." - Johnny, impersonating Obama
"...for now." - Johnny
"What the hell is Obama gonna do for another 50 years?" - Johnny
