Doctor Hurt

The plan for today was for me to accompany Brian to Kingston, where he would see the dentist, go to Wal-Mart, and then we would see a movie with some free tickets he had laying around. We woke to a huge storm gearing up and got moving as quickly as possible, but not before a torrential downpour had started. We even got to hear that broadcast-interrupting weather warning, which threw out some phrases like "60 mph damaging winds" and "quarter sized hail". First, we zipped over to Sam's to drop off her tent, and were greeted by her father. This was an awkward, extremely brief exchange, and we were off again. Our area was spared the worst of the storm, and by the time we got to Kingston the skies were clear. At the dentist's office, I boiled in the car for a while and pretended not to exist when I saw people I knew from high school. We ran into another high school friend in Wal-Mart, shared another awkward conversation and got out of there. Somehow the tickets had gone missing from the car, so we went home kind of dejected. Faced with all this extra time and nothing to do, we resolved to teach Ian to play clix. He picked up the gist of the game mechanics fairly quickly, and we played a decent three-way match. After a few close calls and liberal botching of the rules, my Batman villain team edged out a win over Ian's Avengers-ish lineup and Brian's Batman/Green Lantern team. Once again, Brian and I returned to the garage to sleep over.
          Quotes of the day:
"You know it's a good day when that comes on." - Brian, on the storm warning
...
Tanya: "Is she black again?"
Brian: "She's on and off."

An ace in the hole.
