Along Came a Spider

          Logan came over to hang out, play Soul Calibur III (and roundly defeat me nearly every time), and eat frozen pizza. We created custom characters in SC3: a hideous, piecemeal atrocity dubbed "THADURTYSLOG" for me, and an all-magenta ninja named "TONY DANZA" for Logan. Later on, I had a nearly spiritual experience in which I rescued a firefly from a spider. I noticed its flash in the window and went outside to see it, and found it struggling in a web. The spider was actually descending toward it, and I swatted it off its thread and through a gap in the deck. I don't know what motivated me to do that, but all I could think about afterward was how I nearly saw something so beautiful consumed by something so ugly.
