One last 9:15 Comparative Politics to power through for the week, and I made it all right. As usual, American Politics was a real delight, and Education in the Community consisted almost exclusively of various service-learning community partners explaining their work. The true catharsis would not come until the evening, however.
Six o'clock, call time for the pep band this particular day, drew near. My heart was heavy. A women's basketball game: that almost certainly meant a minuscule showing by the fans, the band and very likely the team (see: about a 2-12 record this season). Quickly, Mason gained on the Huskies, getting up to a sixteen point lead. The outcome looked bleak. Suddenly, the greatest fist gods of the universe smiled down upon us. With less than five minutes left, the Husky girls pulled a twenty point comeback and blew away Mason 58-54. A few gangsta-looking guys jumped down from the bleachers and danced on the court. I was pleased by the intensity and ultimate reward of the game beyond my wildest dreams, and everything just seemed great after that.
